For this purpose, we offer the "SMS DataFactory" which is used to convert a raw data such as relational data, process data, time codes or files into usable data.

Benefits of SMS DataFactory

The SMS DataFactory, as a basis and tool for the implementation of the learning steel plant, collects data from the existing plant automation system and makes them available to other applications. It consists of various components that together allow for comprehensive preparation and analysis of all plant data.

The Data Catalogue provides metadata on the data and signals stored in the data factory. These metadata provide assistance in the interpretation of the data, give meaning to the data, describe their characteristics and define rules for the use of the data in external applications. With the help of the SMS DataFactory, all necessary tools can be provided to analyze, classify and understand data.

The SMS DataFactory is a scalable product, which can be used for a specific plant or machine as well as for a complete plant complex or for an entire company. In this way, a specific plant section can be used for starting small and the application can later be extended to further plant components.

Full Material Genealogy

The SMS DataFactory provides the so called Full Material Genealogy which allows consumers of the data to combine and map data of length based product to any other up- and downstream length based product, e.g. map StopperRodPosition and MoldLevel positions of the continuous casting machine with surface inspection system data from the continuous galvanizing line to find non-metallic inclusions.

It furthermore allows to query the parent/child relationship between products.
